Welcome to our Year 4 class page
Welcome to Year 4 at Dove Bank Primary School. As your child completes their journey through lower key stage 2, this is an exciting and important year, filled with opportunities to learn, grow and prepare for the next stage of education.
In Year 4, we encourage every child to embrace our core values. To aspire to achieve our very best, show resilience when facing challenges, and treat everyone with kindness and respect. Through engaging learning experiences, teamwork and a positive mindset, we aim to help every pupil develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
Here you can find useful information about your child's learning for the year and top tips to support your child at home as they begin their learning in year 4.
At the bottom of this page, you will find access to the long-term overview to see all the exciting learning opportunities that we have planned throughout the year, as well as the homework grid and curriculum map for this term.
At the end of year 4, your child will complete a multiplication times table check. To find out more information about this, you can click the following link https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/multiplication-tables-check-information-for-parents. To support your child with times tables, please encourage them to access Times Tables Rock Stars at home. If you need more information about these sites, please ask your child's class teacher.
Useful things to know
PE
Your child will need to come in their PE kit on Monday and Tuesday for this Autumn term.
Mrs Harley is the class teacher in year 4 until she starts her maternity leave in October, her email address is v.harley@dovebank.staffs.sch.uk should you need to contact her. Mrs Mc Laren is expected to return at this time and will continue to teach year 4 for the rest of the year. Her email address is a.mclaren@dovebank.staffs.sch.uk should you wish to contact her upon her return to school.
